Rick Perry, I will make this simple and easy to read. You shame Texas. You shame all of America. Here is why:
1. Your cuts to education in Texas shame anyone who has ever taught you anything. This includes your little-old-lady Sunday school teacher all the way to the professors at A&M who tolerated your presence in their classes.
2. On the campaign trail you often site Texas’ success in light of the nation’s recent economic troubles. While the extent of this success is debatable, what little this state has going for it has nothing to do with you. The people of Texas work hard by nature. Now we are working harder and getting less for it. The fact that you see this as success is moronic.
3. Your abstinence-only sex-education policies have increased teenage pregnancies and Texas has the highest rate of repeat teen pregnancies in the whole nation. Kudos!
4. Your attempts to link religion and politics with hate cheapen those who believe in a higher power.
